There’s no doubt that TVS is one of the leading names in the 110cc commuter segment and with its new BS6 Star City Plus it will continue to be so. Launched at a starting price of Rs 62,034, the new Star City Plus should prove to be a complete package.
BS6 Star City Plus Specs
First and the foremost feature of the new Star City Plus is its new BS6 engine. It is a 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection. It produces 8.08 bhp of max power at 7,350 rpm and the peak torque of 8.7 Nm is generated at 4,500 rpm. TVS claims that the updated engine is 15 percent more fuel-efficient when compared to that of the BS4 model.
Making the necessary amendments in the new engine to make it BS6 compliant have resulted in a weight gain of 7 kg. That’s a considerable figure, especially when the power and torque figures aren’t the key highlights of the motorcycle. It would be interesting to see how close the actual fuel economy of the new City Plus gets to the claimed mileage number.
