BS6 Hero Splendor Plus is the latest commuter motorcycle from the motorcycle giant to get the BS6 treatment. It has been launched at a starting price of Rs 59,600 for its base model. Overall, the price hike from BS4 to BS6 reaches up to 7 grand in some trims.
What’s new?
Of course, the engine. Hero has replaced the carburettor with a fuel-injection system which comes with Hero’s ‘XSens Technology’. In its BS6 state of tune, the 100cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine produces 7.91bhp which is around 1.3bhp less from before. Although this is a marginal drop, its effects would be felt because there weren’t horses in the first place. As for the torque, it remains the same at 8.05Nm.
Apart from the engine, the new Splendor Plus also gets new colours to keep things fresh. The bike’s overall styling and design remain untouched.
