Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated BS6 version of the Glamour 125. It is available in two variants – drum brake and disc brake which cost Rs 68,900 and Rs 72,400 respectively. Since the BS4 Glamour 125 already had fuel injection system installed, the overall price hike of the BS6 model isn’t huge; only Rs 1,450.
Perhaps, the biggest and most welcoming change in the new BS6 Hero Glamour is the replacement of the old 4-speed gearbox with a new 5-speed unit. Apart from that, the new bike also gets a diamond frame instead of the tubular double-cradle frame seen on the BS4 version.
As far as the engine is concerned, the new BS6 Hero Glamour 125 is powered by the same engine as before, however, it is now BS6 compliant. Hero says that this engine is 19 percent more powerful than that of the outgoing model which had 11.5bhp and 11Nm. To improve the overall performance and fuel efficiency, the Glamour gets Hero’s i3S start-stop system. There’s also a real-time fuel consumption indicator added in the instrument console.
Hero has also altered the dimensions of the BS6 Glamour 125; it now has a ground clearance of 180mm which is 30mm more than the BS4 model. The suspension setup has been tinkered too – front suspension travel increased by 14 percent and rear suspension travel increased by 10 percent.
Now with the BS6 engine and a new 5-speed gearbox, the updated Glamour 125 will compete with the likes of Honda SP125 and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
