Benelli might introduce 125cc bike to compete with KTM 125 Duke

In 2019, Benelli played its innings at the front foot and launched a handful of good motorcycles. Now, moving forward in the same attack mode, it might introduce a new 125cc motorcycle in India which is expected to give direct competition to the KTM 125 Duke.

This new 125cc bike could be the Benelli BN125 because it has been recently spotted in the country. We’ve got a few spy shots of the same in a completely undisguised outfit.

The bike features a white colour with some red graphics and a red Trellis frame. It has a big fuel tank and shrouds giving it a big-bike like look and feel. The small headlight is surrounded by some black bits for added sportiness. The suspension setup consists of a pair of USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. We also spot wide tyres which could be of 110 section at the front and 130 section at the rear. There’s also a full-digital instrument console with yellow/orange backlight.

As for the engine, it is being said that the BN125 runs a 125cc, single-cylinder engine which produces around 11 bhp of max power and 10 Nm of peak torque. It should be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Benelli BN125 vs KTM 125 Duke

The 125 Duke has been one of the best selling 125cc motorcycles in the country. In fact, it is also KTM’s best-selling bike in India. This clearly shows how much the youngsters loved the bike. It is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 14.5 bhp and 12 Nm on tap. These figures are higher than those of the BN125. Except for the engine, both the bikes have similar features – USD forks, monoshock, disc brakes, digital instrument console, wide tyres, etc.

The spy pictures of the Benelli BN125 were uploaded by Kaulson Racing, one of the pioneers for importing, selling and servicing superbikes in India. And, of course, Benelli hasn’t said anything about a 125cc motorcycle at this point in time. However, looking at the popularity of the 125 Duke, having another option in the 125cc segment wouldn’t be a bad deal for the customers.

Let’s see what Benelli has in mind.
