The original Katana is considered to be one of the finest motorcycles Suzuki has ever made. And with its new model, Suzuki has tried to bring the name ‘Katana’ back to life. The new Suzuki Katana was first showcased in 2018 at international motor shows like the 2018 Intermot show in Germany and EICMA 2018 in Italy. And now it has been showcased at Auto Expo 2020. If things looked positive, Suzuki might even launch it in India!

Suzuki Katana

Standing in its gorgeous silver paint scheme, the Katana grabbed many eyeballs and that’s exactly what we need; to convince Suzuki that Katana would be in demand in the Indian market. Suzuki’s primary objective of presenting the bike at the Auto Expo 2020 is to gauge audience reaction. If Suzuki decides to launch the Katana in India, it would happen later this year and the bike will be brought in as a CKD unit to keep the costs in check.

Suzuki Katana Key Features-
  • Square LED headlight
  • Semi front fairing
  • Full-colour TFT screen
  • Fully-adjustable KYB 43 mm USD fork at the front
  • Link-type monoshock set-up at the rear
  • Three-level traction control
  • Brembo brakes with radial calipers
  • 215kg kerb weight

Powering the Katana is a 999cc, in-line, 4-cylinder engine that produces 147bhp and 105Nm. It is the same engine that is used in the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.

We would love to have Katana in India. Would you?
