KTM has updated its entire Duke line-up in India to meet the new BS6 emission norms. This conversion comes at a price hike that goes as high as Rs 10,500 (approx). And to justify this hike, KTM has also given some new features depending on the model.
BS6 KTM 200 Duke
In the name of BS6, KTM 200 Duke received the biggest update in its entire career so far. Gone are the old looks, design, and styling. The new BS6 200 Duke is as similar to the 250 Duke as the 250 Duke is to the 390 Duke. So to identify which is which, you will have to be dependent on the decals and new colours – Electronic Orange and Ceramic White.
Powering the BS6 200 Duke is the same old 200cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out the same 24.6 bhp and 19.3 Nm of torque. The only difference is that it is now BS6 compliant.
Since KTM 200 Duke received the highest number of changes, it got the biggest price hike of Rs 10,500 approx. It now retails at Rs 1.72 lakh.
BS6 KTM 250 Duke
KTM 250 Duke is the perfect balance between the 200 Duke and 390 Duke. And in its BS6 avatar, it continues to hold that position. For Rs 2.01 lakh, the new 250 Duke gets a slipper clutch and Supermoto ABS mode. KTM also added a couple of new colours – Silver Metallic and Dark Galvano – to lure in more customers.
As for the engine, it is the same as before with the same power (29.6 bhp) and torque (24 Nm) figures but now in BS6 format. All these new features come at an additional cost of around Rs 3,500 when compared to the BS4 model.
BS6 KTM 390 Duke
Coming to the fastest of the lot, KTM 390 Duke. In its BS6 version, the 390 Duke gets a price hike of Rs 5,000 approx and for that extra amount KTM is providing BS6 compliant engine with 43 bhp and 37 Nm of torque, bi-directional quickshifter borrowed from the recently launched KTM 390 Adventure, and two new colours – Silver Metallic and Ceramic White. At Rs 2.53 lakh, the 390 Duke is still a phenomenal package.
