Benelli made kind of a comeback in the Indian market with its TRK 502 and TRK 502 X which were launched around a year ago. Although, neither of the two motorcycles could please Benelli with the kind of sales it was expecting. But that didn’t stop Benelli to update the bike. Yes, there’s going to be an updated 2020 Benelli TRK 502 and we have its spy shot.
2020 Benelli TRK 502 updates
The new TRK 502 looks very similar to the current model, however, there are a few changes done. First, the current tubular steel swingarm has been replaced by a new cast aluminium swingarm which is expected to be lighter and also provide more rigidity. Considering the type of bike the TRK 502 is, it would benefit from such an update.
Second, we have Brembo brakes. The Benelli-branded brakes on the current TRK 502 didn’t really impress the riders. It seems Benelli did take feedback quite seriously. Good job, guys.
Third, we spot new handguards with a bright metal section across the front. We don’t know what difference would that make. Let’s see.
Lastly, we think the 2020 TRK 502 would be powered by the same 500cc, twin-cylinder engine but it could be BS6 compliant. Power and torque figures – 46.8 bhp and 46 Nm – might get a small hit in the conversion.
As of now, there’s no info as to when (or whether) Benelli would bring the updated TRK 502 in India. If it does make to our shores, expect a price hike of around Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. The one which is one sale right now has a price tag of Rs 5.10 lakh.
