Suzuki India has finally launched the Gixxer 250 at Rs 1.60 lakh. This motorcycle is a naked version of the recently launched Gixxer SF 250 which is an all-new bike from the Japanese manufacturer.
After the launch of the new Gixxers (Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer SF) in May, Suzuki India confirmed that it will be bringing the naked versions of the motorcycles soon. We already reported the launch of the update Gixxer and today, by launching the Gixxer 250, Suzuki kept its promise.
Speaking at the launch of the Gixxer 250, Koichiro Hirao, company head, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, “In the last five years, Gixxer brand has become synonymous with Suzuki’s attributes of quality, style and performance. It is our constant endeavour to bring a fresh perspective and value to this brand. Today, we are thrilled to launch a stylish and powerful biking experience to our patrons in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer 250. This product is a true reflection of Suzuki’s legacy in developing high-performance motorcycles of superior quality, backed by cutting-edge technology. With this addition to the Gixxer portfolio, we look forward to riding upwards and continue the growth momentum.”
Suzuki Gixxer 250 shares various parts with its faired sibling. It is powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that churns out 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. It has the same 6-speed gearbox. Other similar features include chassis, suspension, wheels and tyres, dual-channel ABS, etc.
The Gixxer 250 also looks very similar to the updated Gixxer but it has some key features which help it to stand out like belly pan, negative LCD display, dual-tone colour options, bronze-finished engine casings and side panels.
Suzuki Gixxer 250’s main rivals are Yamaha FZ25 and KTM Duke 200 which are priced at Rs 1.34 lakh and Rs 1.62 lakh respectively. What are your opinions about the new Gixxer 250?
