Suzuki also launched Gixxer SF, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh

Better looks but heavier with slightly less power.

2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF

Sharing the stage with the Gixxer SF 250 at the launch was the new Gixxer SF as Suzuki launched both these bikes together. Price at Rs 1.10 lakh, the younger one here follows in the footsteps of its new elder sibling by wearing the same clothes and sharing numerous parts.

The tail light is now LED.

If you’re looking at both the new bikes from the front, chances are you wouldn’t be able to differentiate between them. This isn’t something new as we’ve seen many brands playing around with the same philosophy in the past. Overall, the new Gixxer is much better to look at that the outgoing model.

Buyers of this segment would appreciate the new look. There are other features as well to convince them to buy this bike like the updated fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and taillight, dual disc brakes with single channel ABS, split-seat configuration, etc.

The new Suzuki Gixxer SF is powered by the familiar 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine but this time there’s no carb variant. The engine here produces the same 14Nm of torque but the power figure has gone down to 13.9hp. Also, thanks to the new fairing and chassis, the new Gixxer weighs 6kg heavier than the old model. Now combine this with the power figure. The Gixxer SF wasn’t a fast bike in the first place but now it’s going to be even less fast than before.

Looks great from this angle.

Bookings of the new Suzuki are now open and the deliveries are expected to commence by the end of this month. With a price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF is Rs 12,000 expensive than the outgoing model. Do you think the increased price is worth the new features?

(All price are ex-showroom, New Delhi)
