Taking another big step after its resurrection, Jawa has launched its third product in India and it is called the Perak, a bobber-styled motorcycle that is expected to help the brand to leave an even a larger footprint in the domestic market.
Jawa Perak has been priced at Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). For that amount of money, you get a good-looking and attractive motorcycle with aesthetics that are a combination of retro and modern. Since the Perak is a bobber-styled bike, it is a single-seater. This should appeal to a lot of enthusiasts, don’t you think?
Of course, there are classical elements in the bike that remind us that it is indeed a Jawa. There’s the round headlamp, peanut-shaped fuel tank, simple instrument cluster, etc.
Powering the Jawa Perak is a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which is BS 6-compliant. It produces 30 bhp and 31 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This makes the Perak the most powerful Jawa in the country as the other two bikes – the Jawa Standard and Jawa Forty Two – have 27 bhp and 28 Nm of torque.
Jawa says that the official bookings of the Perak will commence from 1st January 2020 whereas the deliveries are expected to start from 2nd April 2020.
We kind of like the new Perak. Do you?
