We’ve already heard a lot about a more powerful Africa Twin 1100 being worked upon behind closed doors but the latest news suggests that there might also be a more affordable version of the bike being built along.
Actually, a rendered image of a new low-displacement Africa Twin is up on the Internet. And it is being said that this model will be named as the Honda CRF850L Africa Twin. This could be possible because with this bike Honda could challenge the current middleweight adventure motorcycles like the Triumph Tiger 800, BMW F 850 GS, Yamaha Tenere 700, and the KTM 790 Adventure.

As far as the engine is concerned, it is being speculated that the new bike would feature an 850cc parallel-twin engine which would produce somewhere in the range of 80-90hp. In terms of aesthetics, it should be quite similar to the current Africa Twin or perhaps borrow the new features that Honda would include in the more powerful 1100.
Of course, all these are just rumours and there’s no official or solid information about this bike. However, we would try to act surprised if Honda showcases not one but two new Africa Twins at the EICMA in November.
