Husqvarna showcased its Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 at the recently concluded IBW 2019 and announced that it will launch both the bikes in India in February 2020. Both these motorcycles are based on 250 Duke, however, are expected to have a slightly premium price tag than that of the KTM. While we were still pondering about the prices of the new Huskies, Husqvarna revealed its Svartpilen 200!

Husqvarna added the Svartpilen 200 on its global website. It is certainly going to be a more affordable option than the Svartpilen 250. It is based on the KTM 200 Duke sharing many parts and components. Powering it is a 200cc, single, that churns out 26 bhp.

Of course, the Svartpilen 200 looks similar to its elder 250cc sibling. The design of the body panels, lights, seat, wheels, etc. are quite similar. However, there is one big difference between the two bikes that not only helps to differentiate them from one another but also keeps the costs in check. The Svartpilen 200 doesn’t get the side-slung exhaust like the Svartpilen 250, rather has an underbody unit like the 200 Duke.

It’s being speculated that Husqvarna would launch the Svartpilen 200 in India sometime next year. Regarding the pricing, it should be around Rs 10-15k dearer than the 200 Duke.

So, there’s the Svartpilen 200 based on the 200 Duke, Svartpilen 250 based on the 250 Duke, and soon there will be a Svartpilen 401 based on the 390 Duke. We are wondering would there be a Svartpilen 125 based on 125 Duke too?
