BS6 emission norms will be implemented in India from April 2020. By then, automobile manufacturers will have to update their entire vehicle line-up to comply with the newer and more stringent emission rules. Vehicles which won’t fulfil these rules will not be allowed to be sold in the market. Honda understands the gravity of the situation and is already working on the matter. Its latest product with BS6 compliant engine is going to be the Activa 125.
Honda Activa is undoubtedly one of the best selling scooters in the country. To make sure it continues to reach the customers, Honda has updated the Activa 125 with fuel injection to make it BS6 compliant. Honda showcased the updated model last month. The current model of the Activa 125 is BS4 compliant and is powered by a 125cc engine which produces 8.4hp and 10.5Nm of torque. The new Activa 125 is scheduled to be launched in September.

It’s also being said that the new Activa 125 BS6 will be the first scooter in its segment to get a side stand indicator with engine inhibitor. It will also feature a noiseless starter motor and an idle-stop-start system for enhancing fuel efficiency.
Apart from making the scooter BS6 compliant, Honda has also added more features to it. It would come with a semi-digital dash that would show information like average fuel consumption and range. There would be the inclusion of an LED headlamp, chrome inserts on the side panels, and a new tail lamp.
While there’s no official confirmation from Honda about the price of the upcoming Activa 125 BS6, considering the additional features and a BS6 compliant engine, we are expecting to see a slight hike in the price of the new model.
