Benelli India has shared a couple of teasers on its Instagram page of what seems to be an upcoming new bike. Since the Leoncino 500 was confirmed by Benelli at the launch of the TRK 502 range in the country, it is quite likely that that’s the bike Benelli is talking about in its teasers.
The Leoncino 500 is powered by a 499.6cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, twin-cylinder engine that produces 47.6hp and 45Nm of torque. It weighs around 207kg and has a few design cues inspired by the Ducati Scrambler like the digital instrument cluster, steel trellis chassis and its exhaust setup.
Internationally, the Leoncino 500 is available in three variants – Standard/Street, Trail, and Sport – but only the standard/street variant will be launched in India in the starting. This is perhaps to analyse and study the response that the bike gets. If everything appears to be good, we might get to have the other two variants as well.
Although there isn’t any official launch date released by the company, we are suspecting that Benelli could launch the new Leoncino 500 in the coming month of August, perhaps in the first week itself. Stay tuned for more updates.
