Benelli India has been teasing the launch of an upcoming motorcycle for the last three days. Today, it has uploaded a new Instagram post which tells us that the new bike will be launched on 5th August. And looking at the post, we can now confirm that it is none other but the Leoncino 500.
The post has an image of an instrument console which is similar to that of the Leoncino 500. Also, Benelli India confirmed at the launch of its TRK 502 range that the Leoncino 500 will be hitting the Indian shores very soon.
We are expecting to see only the standard/street variant of the Leoncino 500 at the time of the launch. It should be the entry-level 500cc bike by Benelli in the Indian market and thus, would have a more affordable price tag than the TRK 502 range.
Powering the Leoncino 500 would be a 499.6cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that churns out almost 48bhp at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. Other key features include tubular steel-trellis frame, thicker USD forks at the front, mono-shock at the rear, 320mm dual-disc at the front, 260mm disc at the rear, 13.5-litre fuel tank, etc. There would be three colours of the bike.
