If you want to join the prestigious Aprilia family but don’t want to spend a whole lot of money, then the new Aprilia Storm 125 is your best bet. It will be the latest and most affordable Aprilia that you will be able to buy in India. It is soon going to be launched at an introductory price of Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The production model of the Storm 125 is slightly different than the one Aprilia India showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. It’d feature 12-inch wheels wearing Vee rubber off-road-oriented tyres. The front is 120/80 section and the rear is 130/80 section. They, combined with the black front and rear fender, give the scooter a very sporty look.

Look closely and you’d notice that there’s no disc brake here. Aprilia decided to skip that and use drums on both the wheels and top it off with CBS. Perhaps, we’d get to see a disc brake variant later in the future. Right now with its current specs and price, the Storm 125 should go toe-to-toe with the TVS NTorq 125 and Honda Grazia.
Aprilia has also added a rear grab handle for obvious reasons. It also replaced its red logo with a white one. The rest of the design, features, and graphics have been carried forward making the Storm 125 one of the sportiest-looking scooters in its segment.
Powering the Aprilia Storm 125 is the same engine that we have seen in the SR 125. It’s a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with 3 valves producing 9.5hp and 9.8Nm of torque. It would be available in two colour options – red and yellow.
