The Yamaha Tenere 700 has been launched in the Philippines. Yamaha has launched the Tenere 700 in the Philippines, diving straight into the already competitive and crowded mid-weight adventure motorcycle segment in the country.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 is one of the hottest and most-respected adventure motorcycles in the world. It has been on sale in America, Europe and a few Asian markets, and the Philippines is the latest country to get the ADV motorcycle. The Tenere 700 is a versatile motorcycle that certainly looks the part.
Up front is a rather in-your-face LED headlamp design with a large windscreen. The long-travel suspension combined with the fuel tank cowling, engine bash-plate, spoked wheels, and minimalistic rear-end makes it look brilliant and pretty close to a full-blown Dakar Rally bike.
Yamaha has got the powertrain perfected too. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, 689cc, parallel-twin engine with a crossplane crankshaft. It puts out a maximum power figure of 72.4bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque figure of 68.06Nm at 6,500rpm.

It comes with top-notch electronics to match. The Yamaha Tenere 700 features long-travel suspension from Kayaba. Up front is an upside-down fork with 210mm of travel and at the rear is a monoshock with 200mm of travel.
Braking duties are handled by twin 282mm disc brakes up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The Yamaha Tenere 700 has been launched in the Philippines at PHP 619,000 (Rs 9.43 lakh).
We enthusiasts have been wishing for the Tenere 700 to be launched in India as well, however, Yamaha has shown no signs of it happening just yet. However, the fact that it has been launched in the Philippines gives us reason for hope. Would India be the next market? Only time will tell.
