Prices of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 have been hiked by Rs 1,200 across the country. Yamaha Motor India has announced an increase in the prices of the R15 V3. This pushes the starting price of the motorcycle up to Rs 1,49,100.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 is the most-powerful motorcycle in the 150cc segment in India. Its performance is much spoken-about and it makes for a brilliant riding experience. The R15 has always been the most-expensive 150cc motorcycle in India ever since it was first launched. Now, Yamaha has increased the prices of the motorcycle further, by Rs 1,200.
The company hasn’t revealed any reasons for the increase in prices. Thanks to the price increase, the Thunder Grey colour retails at Rs 1,49,100 while the Racing Blue shade has a price tag of Rs 1,50,200 and the Dark Knight sells for Rs 1,51,200. The motorcycle remains unchanged in terms of design and styling.
It gets the twin-pod LED headlamps up front with the faux air intake between them. Sharp and aggressive lines can be found all across the motorcycle. The cowling on the fuel tank features some cuts and creases that makes the motorcycle feel more premium. The Racing Blue shade also gets the alloy wheels finished in a shade of Dark Blue.
The Yamaha R15 V3 retains the same aggressive riding position with the clip-on handlebars being positioned down low and the rear-set footpegs. Powering the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 is the same liquid-cooled, 155cc, single-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 18.37bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque output of 14.1Nm at 8,500rpm.
The engine still features Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), which makes it quite the rev-happy motor. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel via an assist and slipper clutch. Suspension is taken care of by a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a 282mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
