The Honda Africa Twin 1100 is the Japanese auto giant’s flagship Adventure motorcycle. It is a brilliant motorcycle packed with high-tech features, rider aids, decent performance, and looks to match. In March 2020, Honda launched the updated Africa Twin 1100 with updated styling and a longer features list.

It came with a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display to handle instrumentation duties. Along with taking care of instrumentation, it also came with Apple Carplay connectivity. iPhone users could pair their Apply smartphone with the display to receive phone calls, view messages, play music, and even display navigation on the screen.

This was a boon for Apple iPhone users but there is no doubt that Android smartphone users felt left out. Honda has now updated the system with Android Auto too. Android smartphone users can now pair their device with the screen and access various apps for weather updates, contacts, calls, messages, music, etc.

This will allow users to access most smartphone features right on the TFT Display of the Africa Twin 1100. The rest of the motorcycle remains the same though. It still features the same tall stance, the same instantly recognisable design and styling, and is still powered by the same engine.

It is a liquid-cooled, 1,084cc, parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 101bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque output of 105Nm at 6,250rpm. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed DCT.

It also features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), four levels of power, three levels of electronic engine braking, wheelie control, traction control, etc.
