Deliveries of the Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooter have commenced across the country. Piaggio dealerships across India have started delivering the SXR 160 to customers. This comes just after the maxi-scooter was launched in India in December with a price tag of Rs 1.26 lakh.
The SXR 160 is the most-awaited scooter from Aprilia this year. The maxi-scooter first debuted at the 2020 Indian Auto Expo and since then has been expected to be launched in India. It drew a significant amount of attention at the Auto Expo and was praised by everyone, especially for its design.
It features the design and styling typical of a proper maxi-scooter. Up front is a large apron with LED headlamps and LED DRLs integrated into it. Right above it is a rather large windscreen. The side profile is characterised by the rather large panels and bodywork. The seat is massive and comfortable to sit on. At the rear is a simple, yet effective design with an LED tail lamp.
The Aprilia SXR 160 is powered by an air-cooled, 160cc, single-cylinder engine. This is the same 3-valve motor that powers the Aprilia SR160. It has a maximum power output of 10.84bhp at 7,600rpm and a peak torque output of 11.6Nm at 6,000rpm.
It comes loaded with features like a completely-digital instrument cluster, USB mobile phone charger and a lockable glovebox. The scooter is available in four attractive colour options — Red, Blue, White and Black.
