The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 is all set to be launched in India. Ahead of its launch in the Indian market, the specs of the motorcycle have been confirmed. In terms of figures, the new motorcycle is very similar to the older BS4 model.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 has for a long time now been one of the most-loved motorcycles in the 300cc segment in the Indian market. It is the entry-level model in the Ninja line-up and is a brilliant motorcycle. In April 2020, Kawasaki Motorcycle India discontinued the Ninja 300 owing to the new, more stringent BS6 emissions norms.
For almost a year now, the significantly more expensive NInja 400 has been the entry-level Ninja model in India. The brand however knows that the Ninja 300 brought in better sales numbers and is therefore relaunching the motorcycle. It was only a week ago that the BS6 Ninja 300 was revealed, and now Kawasaki has confirmed the specifications of the motorcycle.
Kawasaki has managed to retain the same engine configuration with the same power output as well. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 will be powered by the same liquid-cooled, 296cc, parallel-twin engine as the BS4 model. We had expected a slightly lesser power output thanks to the BS6 tune.
However, the power and torque output remain the same at 38.4bhp and 27Nm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 also retains the design of the older BS4 model. It gets the same twin-pod LED headlamp and a full fairing with sharp design lines. It also features an analogue-digital instrument cluster.
Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a 290mm petal disc up front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear. Kawasaki has also revealed the colour options for the 2021 Ninja 300 BS6. It gets three colour options — Ebony, Lime Green with Ebony, and Lime Green with Kawasaki Racing Team Graphics. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 is expected to be launched in the first half of 2021.
