The ‘TVS Fiero 125’ name has been registered. TVS Motor Company has registered the ‘Fiero 125’ name and this signals the return of the legendary Fiero brand. The upcoming Fiero 125 is expected to be launched in the first half of 2021. The ‘Fiero’ name is quite a special one to motorcyclists of this generation and the generation before this as well.
TVS Fiero 150It was quite a popular motorcycle in the early 2000s. The Fiero was a fun-to-ride, sporty yet practical motorcycle that was launched 20 years ago, in 2000. It was co-developed by TVS and Suzuki. TVS continued producing the Fiero even after the partnership with Suzuki ended in 2001.
The motorcycle quickly became a favourite for autocross races, rally raids, and even street racing. It was nimble, had a decent power output, and almost always managed to put a smile on its rider’s face. For several years now, the TVS Fiero has not been in production. Now though, TVS is looking at re-introducing the Fiero nameplate.
While the older Fiero slotted into the 150cc segment, TVS appears to be targeting the 125cc segment with the new model. TVS has not had a product in the 125cc segment for a while now. The manufacturer produces the Radeon, Star City+, and Sport, all in the 110cc segment. Now though, TVS is shifting its focus to the 125cc segment with the new TVS Fiero 125.
TVS Fiero FXThe 2021 TVS Fiero 125 will compete with the likes of the Honda SP 125 and Hero Glamour 125. No other details of the upcoming TVS Fiero 125 are known at the moment. When it comes to the design, TVS will try to add in a few elements reminiscent of the old Fiero just for that little nostalgic touch.
TVS has in the past had BS4 125cc engines. The company could try to build on the same engines or, might even develop a brand new BS6-compliant engine from scratch. Stay tuned for more information on the 2021 TVS Fiero 125.
