The KTM 890 Adventure has finally been revealed. Two weeks after KTM revealed the 890 Adventure R and 890 Adventure R Rally to the world, the Austrian brand has now revealed full specs and details of the entry-level 890 Adventure.
The KTM 890 Adventure lineup is whipping up quite a storm in the Adventure Tourer motorcycle segment. It is one among the most-awaited motorcycles to be launched this year, and it is here in three new forms. KTM recently revealed the top-spec variants of the 890 Adventure.
Called the 890 Adventure R and 890 Adventure R Rally, these bikes brought top-shelf components and features to the table. Now KTM has revealed full specs and the little details of the base variant. It is called the 890 Adventure and seems simply perfect for those looking to get into the now extremely popular 800-900cc ADV Tourer segment.
The KTM 890 Adventure is based on the outgoing 790 Adventure when it comes to the design. It features the same LED headlamp with LED DRLs, the same tall windscreen, knuckle guards, fuel tank design and rear-end too. The biggest difference lies in the underpinnings. It gets a new, lighter subframe and a new engine too.
The KTM 890 Adventure is powered by a new liquid-cooled, 889cc, Euro 5 emissions norms compliant parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 103.5bhp and a peak torque output of 100Nm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel via a slip and assist clutch.
It has a long list of features including a full-colour TFT screen, traction control, motor clip regulation, cornering ABS, two-step height adjustable seat, etc, as standard equipment. Optional extras include Cruise Control, Quickshifter+, heated seat and grips, etc.
Suspension duties are handed by an upside-down fork from WP up front and a WP Apex adjustable monoshock at the rear. It boasts of 200mm suspension travel and Dakar rally motorcycle-style ergonomics complete with a 20-litre tank making refueling easier on longer rides.
The 2021 KTM 890 Adventure will be available in European dealerships from December 2020. It is expected to be launched in India next year.
