Indian Motorcycle has launched the FTR 1200 Rally in the American market. The Indian FTR 1200 Rally has been priced at USD 13,499 (Rs 10.20 lakh) and is also expected to be launched in India soon.
The FTR 1200 Rally is based on the standard FTR 1200, but comes with several changes that make it more suitable for off-road usage. As the name suggests, the Rally variant is designed for off-road use.
It borrows its basic design and styling from the standard FTR 1200, but has quite a few changes. It now sports a Titanium Smoke paint job and the Indian head decal on the side of the fuel tank.
Right up front is the same circular headlamp from the FTR 1200, but above it is a new handlebar from ProTaper that sits 50mm taller than the standard handlebar. This allows for a more upright seating position that aids off-road ability. It also gets a new Tan Brown seat.
Further adding to the off-road features list are the spoked wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR knobbly tyres. Apart from these differences, it remains identical to the standard FTR 1200. Braking duties are handled by twin 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 265mm disc at the rear.
An upside-down fork up front and a monoshock at the rear handle suspension duties. The Indian FTR 1200 Rally is powered by the same engine as the standard FTR 1200. It is a liquid-cooled, 1,205cc, V-Twin engine with a maximum power output of 125bhp and 117.9Nm.
The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the Indian market very soon as it has already been listed on Indian Motorcycles’ Indian website. Well, it certainly looks like we will be having more variants of the FTR 1200 in India in the near future.
