Ducati has launched the Scrambler 1100 Pro and Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro in the Indian market. The new Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro has been priced at Rs 11.95 lakh while the Scrambler Sport Pro has been launched with a price tag of Rs 13.74 lakh. Bookings for the motorcycles have commenced at all Ducati dealerships in the country and deliveries should start soon.
The Ducati Scrambler has always been a fun-to-ride motorcycle that caters to a niche audience. The motorcycle has a unique fan base who remain loyal to it. Now, Ducati has launched the BS-VI compliant Scrambler 1100 Pro and Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro motorcycles.
In terms of design, the motorcycles look similar to the old Ducati Scrambler. However, the new Scrambler 1100 Pro is available in a new two-tone Ocean Drive colour scheme. The steel trellis frame and the aluminium subframe at the rear are both exposed and painted in Black.
Up front is the signature circular headlamp and right above it is the circular LCD instrumentation. The fuel tank has been sculpted in typical Scrambler style. The engine and exhaust system contribute significantly to the design and styling of the motorcycle.
The exhaust pipe from the L-twin engine snakes its way to the bottom and then upwards to the twin canisters at the rear. The rear is minimalistic as expected and is characterised by the tyre-hugger mounted registration number plate holder.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro is the top-spec variant and comes with top-shelf components. It costs Rs 1.79 lakh more than the 1100 Pro. For the extra price paid by buyers, it comes with lower handlebars, cafe racer inspired bar-end mirrors, and a Matt Black colour scheme. In terms of mechanical upgrades, the 1100 Sport Pro gets top-spec Ohlins suspension.
Both variants come equipped with Ducati Traction Control, Cornering ABS, and three riding modes — City, Active and Journey. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro are powered by an air-cooled, 1,079cc, L-twin engine with a maximum power output of 86bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque output of 88.4Nm at 4,750rpm.
A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel via a hydraulic, servo-assisted slipper clutch. Deliveries of the Scrambler Pro and Sport Pro are expected to begin soon.
