The BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S has been launched in India. Hero MotoCorp has launched the BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S in India with a price tag of Rs 1,16,321 (ex-showroom, Bangalore). In its BS6 guise, the Hero Xtreme 200S features an oil-cooled engine and lower output figures. It remains the same in terms of design and styling.
The Hero Xtreme 200S was the only faired fully-faired motorcycle in Hero MotoCorp’s product portfolio. It received rave reviews when it was launched back in 2018, but it failed to sell in great numbers. Hero MotoCorp had to stop production of the Xtreme 200S when the BS6 emissions norms kicked in, in April 2020.
However, in the last few months, there have been various reports stating that the Hero Xtreme 200S will be launched soon. Now, the BS6 Xtreme 200S has finally been launched in India. In terms of design, one would find it hard to spot the differences between the BS4 and BS6 versions.
It still features the same LED headlamp up front, the sporty full fairing, the voluptuous fuel tank, and the rather simple rear end. The real changes are mechanical. The BS6 Xtreme 200S is powered by the same engine as the BS6 Xpulse 200. It is a fuel-injected, oil-cooled, 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine.
In the BS6 Xtreme 200S, it produces 17.83bhp and 16.45Nm, which is lower than the 18.4bhp and 17.1Nm output of the air-cooled engine in the BS4 model. In its BS6 guise, the Xtreme 200S has gained 5.5kgs, taking the weight up to 154.5kgs.
The Hero MotoCorp website reveals that the BS6 Xtreme 200S features a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S is available in three colour options — Panther Black, Sports Red, and Pearl Fadeless White.
Braking duties are handled by a single disc brake on both ends, assisted by dual-channel ABS. Suspension duties are handled by a monoshock at the rear and a conventional telescopic fork up front. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,16,321 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) and is available at your nearest Hero MotoCorp dealership.
