The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 has been launched in Japan. Yamaha has launched the 2021 YZF-R3 with a price tag of 6,87,500 yen (Rs 4.90 lakh). The changes on the 2021 model are limited to new colour options. It remains the same mechanically.
The Yamaha R3 is one of the most-respected motorcycles in the 300cc supersport segment. It is a versatile motorcycle that feels equally at home on the twisties, on the racetrack and out on the highway as well. It has been on sale in India and other markets around the world for several years, and now, Yamaha has launched the 2021 model in Japan.
In terms of design, the motorcycle remains the same. It still features the same twin LED headlamps up front with the ram air intake in between. At the side is a large fairing with sharp edges and creases that make it look aggressive. It still features the same sharp, yet simple design at the rear. The only real changes come in the form of new colour options.
The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 is offered in three colour schemes — Cyan Metallic, Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, and Matte Dark Grey. The motorcycle is powered by the same liquid-cooled, 321cc, parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 41.5bhp at 10,750rpm and a peak torque output of 29Nm at 9,000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox drives the rear wheel.
Yamaha Motor India is yet to launch the BS6 version of the R3. Given that the newer motorcycle is already available in other markets, we too expect this motorcycle to be launched in 2021. Rumours are that the launch will happen in June 2021, however, we feel it could happen earlier too.
