With the launch day coming closer, we are seeing more and more of the new TVS Akula (Apache RR 310S) every other day. The bike has been spotted again doing rounds in camo not exactly trying to hide anything. Quite clearly the bike has the BMW G310R under all the new plastic. We expect the engine to produce the exact same power as that on the BMW, but we have reports that suggest that it could be de-tuned a bit and could finally churn out about 30 horses.
The good thing is that the new TVS Akula (Apache RR 310S) will have USD suspensions at the front, mono shock at the rear and quite surely the exact same chassis that the G310R sports. Apart from the cosmetic changes (fairing, tail section, tank) the other big change are the clip on handle bars. The riding position is quite sporty and this new TVS seems to be the best thing that has happened in the Indian market since the KTM’s.
Expected launch date seems to be around the next few months, but no official word from the company, yet.
