The BMW G310R has been making headlines for quite a while now and has been highly anticipated since the project came into light. Three years back, BMW and TVS entered a joint venture to develop new cost effective products for India and other markets. The first product of the association of these two motorcycle manufacturers is the BMW G310R. It is a lightweight street naked motorcycle which was revealed in November last year and showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2016.

Now the BMW G310R has been spotted testing on Indian roads and has been caught on video. It was spotted in Strato Blue Metallic colour without any camouflage at all. This could be an indication that the launch of the BMW G310R isn’t very far away and also since there is essentially nothing new to hide. The video has been recorded by some youngsters in a car near Krishnagiri close by to the TVS factory and the motorcycle rider was quick to disappear out of sight once he realised that he had been noticed.

The BMW G310R will compete against KTM Duke 390 but is expected to be priced a little higher at INR 2.5 lac. The BMW G310R has been designed by BMW and will be manufactured by TVS. With a distinguished BMW design character, the BMW G310R certainly looks premium. It is powered by a 313cc liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder engine which generates a peak power of 34 BHP at 9500 RPM and a peak torque of 28 Nm that comes at 7500 RPM. It gets USD forks up front, a monoshock at the rear, a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with ABS on both ends. Expect the motorcycle to be officially launched by September this year.
