The wait is finally over and the Suzuki Gixxer SF has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 83,439/- in Delhi. The new Suzuki Gixxer SF is based on the very popular 154.9cc Gixxer and essentially is the Gixxer with a full fairing. The new full fairing has added just 4 kilograms to the overall weight and the new Suzuki Gixxer SF weighs 139 kg kerb. The ground clearance remains the same at 160 mm. When we first saw the spy shots we were a bit skeptical about the looks. Primarily because the ‘mini busa’ type fairing was looking kind of odd on the Gixxer SF. The final product though looks quite good in our eyes. Will need to see and test it out on road to really have a final opinion on the looks and performance of this new machine. Actually performance wise there is nothing really new to expect, as under that fairing everything is the absolutely same as that of the naked. Power remains at 14.6 HP at 8,000 RPM and torque remains at 14 Nm at 6,000 RPM. We however are expecting a slightly better top speed and a more comfortable highway ride thanks to the aerodynamically sculpted full fairing.
The new Gixxer SF is available in three colour options, namely Metallic Triton Blue (Special MotoGP Edition), Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White. The special MotoGP edition blue colour option is priced roughly about Rs. 2000/- more than the other two colour options. Interestingly the red and grey colour option that the naked has takes a miss. The side profile of the bike in all the three colours look stunning, it’s only from the front that it looks a bit tiny. Back when we reviewed the Gixxer we were absolutely impressed by it, and we are pretty sure the full fairing would have only made the Gixxer SF better. From the looks of it Suzuki now have a second successful bike in the 150 cc segment and surely are going to eat out their competitors market shares.
