hyosung gv250 aquila india auto expo 2014 launch

This move from Hyosung was awaited since last year and finally we have confirmed information that DSK Hyosung will be launching their mini cruiser the GV250 Aquila in India. The launch of course will be at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi where Hyosung for the first time will be participating in the country’s biggest Auto Expo.

The GV250 Aquila is powered by a 250cc engine (same V-Twin from the GT250R) that makes just above 26 horses at a high 10,500 RPM and with a torque of 22 Nm coming in at 7500 RPM. It comes with a 14 litre tank and a dry weight of 167 kg’s. Not bad at all we say. Should be the ideal choice for a sporty yet relaxed highway cruiser. Sporty because of its engine characteristics. According to Mr. Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Hyosung, Hyosung is moving to a high amount of localization for the all the current and future bikes and eventually in the coming years will head on to total localization with a fully functional manufacturing unit even producing 150-200cc motorcycles. Keeping that in mind, we expect the GV250 Aquila to already have a good deal of localization, but even then do not expect this anywhere below the 3 lakh mark. Probably one thing that will work for the GV250 Aquila is that its quite big in size and has dimensions and the appearance of a much higher capacity cruiser. So lets see what Hyosung will price the GV250 at. We are also expecting more information on the GT250N and GD250N so stay tuned as we will be there at the Auto Expo getting you all the info as it happens.
