The Hyosung GT250R is all set for launch in June 2012 at an expected price above 2 lakh INR. This will be the second coming of the Hyosung 250 in India, the earlier one being the naked Hyosung Comet 250 introduced in association with Kinetic. Garware have also confirmed that the naked Hyosung GT250 will also be introduced later this year. The GT 250R will produce about 26.6 horses (27 PS) and feature a V-twin engine on a twin spar frame as seen on the GT 650R. Garware Hyosung also plan to introduce the GV650 cruiser with an estimated cost of 5 lakh INR, followed by the GV250 cruiser.

Update(13/6/2012): DSK Motowheels, Hyosung India’s new partner has confirmed during the GT 250R launch that it will stick to the plans earlier announced by Garware-Hyosung in terms of bringing in the naked GT250/GV250 cruiser and the GV650 cruiser later this year. DSK Motowheels also announced that they are aiming for maximum localization of production in order to keep costs the competitive. The Hyosung GT250R will cost 2.75L ex-showroom Delhi and will be available in 3 colour options namely red-black, white-red and silver-red across 18 dealerships across India. An interesting announcement at the launch was that once the localization is complete, which DSK Motowheels intend to do in 18 months, the price of the GT250R could drop to as much as 1.5L ex-showroom.

  1. With the Honda CBR 250 launched at close to 1.8lakhs, it will be great if we can see some bike with better performance in a price range of 1.5-1.6lakhs. As doing this will help getting two type of customers:–
    1. Those who love bikes and have budget constraint and Can’t buy CBR 250 and end up buying Yamaha R15 for 1.2lakhs
    2. Those who love bikes and don;t have much of a budget constraint might wanna try something cheaper and better than CBR 250 , which is priced at 1.7-1.8 lakhs

  2. The Comet 250GT was priced at 1.9 on road back in 2005… expecting a price tag of 1.9 and less for the 250R is a dream…

  3. Wasn’t the Comet GT250 priced at around Rs. 1,50,000/-…? Taking that as a measure the GT250R should be about 2,00,000/-. Hopefully they’ll launch the naked soon at 1.5 lakh..

  4. i think the price is acceptable, but it should be less than 2.5 lakhs. there is no doubt in 250r, it will rule our roads
