Noriyuki Haga’s new BSB adventure got started today at the Cartegena circuit, aboard the 2011 championship winning Swan Racing Yamaha R1. It was his first time back aboard the four-cylinder Japanese machine since last riding it in WSBK, in 2008. Nori’s first BSB race will come on April 6th, at the Brands Hatch circuit.

After his last WSBK season with the Team Pata Aprilia, where he finished 8th overall with four podiums, the Japanese rider failed to find a seat to continue at the world level. Having featured heavily in the series since 1998, he amassed 43 race wins in route to becoming an absolute fan favorite. In the middle he also acquired some Grand Prix experience, racing a 500cc Yamaha in 2001, and the infamous Aprilia Cube MotoGP machine in 2003. Nori will join two Italian riders in the British national series, Luca Scassa and Alex Polita.
