Hero MotoCorp will soon start selling their first ‘Hero‘ branded motorcycle after their break-up from Honda last year. The motorcycle named ‘Impulse’ will shortly be launched in the Indian market at Rs 66,800 ex-showroom Delhi.
Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua announced to the press and assembled media that “The Impulse is the first bike from us which will be sold only under the Hero brand. We have already started dispatches and it will soon be available at showrooms in metros and Tier-I cities.”
The new 150-cc bike ‘Impulse’ is a dual purpose bike which the company claims can be used for both normal commuting as well as off-road riding. The Impulse is a segment opener and the only player in the off road motorcycle market for India. If there is any company that can test this market it is Hero MotoCorp. If successful we are sure to see a lot more entrants into this market sector.
While announcing the new brand identity of the company in August this year in London, the company had introduced the bike ‘Impulse’ and a 110-cc scooter, ‘Maestro’, to be sold under the Hero brand. We think at this price the Implulse is a steal but more on this after a detailed review and a proper test of its off-road capabilities.
