Exactly one year ago MV Agusta revealed their new Brutale Dragster RR ahead of the 2014 EICMA. The stunning new Brutale Dragster featured a revised 798 cc three-cylinder engine that makes an enormous 140 BHP at 13,100 RPM and a peaky torque of 85.4 Nm at 10,000 RPM. The bike was updated with many features including the new electronics package featuring MVICS 2.0 with a quick-shifter. One year later, MV Agusta have collaborated with the two time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and announced the new limited edition MV Agusta Brutale Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR.
Turns out Lewis Hamilton is a huge fan of the machines from MV Augusta. And also the fact that AMG has a 20% interest in the Varese brand proves this collaboration to be a win-win situation for all parties. Lewis Hamilton worked closely with the MV Agusta CRC (Castiglioni Research Center) design team. They together ensured the limited edition Brutale Dragster RR’s specifications and performance matched his requirements perfectly. The ongoing collaborative process from concept to hand assembly saw the creation of the limited edition MV Agusta Brutale Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR.
The president and CEO of MV Augusta, Giovanni Castiglioni, said that they are very proud to be working in partnership with a passionate racer like Lewis Hamilton. He adds that this is great news for them and all the MV Agusta followers around the world. The announcement came along with a teaser video clip showing Lewis Hamilton riding the new limited edition MV Agusta Brutale Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR and also features him doing burnouts.
MV Augusta have not revealed the bike completely nor any details about the changes to the bike visually and mechanically. But, from the released video clip, it is apparent that the new MV Augusta Brutale Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR features a lot more anodized red mechanical parts than the standard MV Augusta Brutale Dragster RR. To list a few, the rims, foot pegs, clutch lever, brake lever, engine covers, clutch cover and swingarm get the anodized red treatment.
MV Agusta have also not revealed the total number of the limited edition Brutale Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR’s they would be manufacturing. All the details will probably be released in a short while. The limited edition Lewis Hamilton Dragsters will be hand assembled by the skilled craftsmen of MV Agusta at the Schiranna headquarters.
