We just told you about how Benelli has been the standout performer at this years EICMA 2015 and the reason is simple. The range of motorcycles that they have shown at the show is clearly in tune with the general trend towards lower capacity motorcycles. With more and more motorcyclists looking for options in the mid range that would suit their needs as well as not burn a hole in their pocket, the Benelli TRK 502 could not have come in at a better time. An ADV bike right in the middleweight bracket that seems to actually have some adventure touring potential.

The 2016 Benelli TRK 502 surely looks the part. It reminds you of pretty much any other big 1000 cc plus ADV bike out there. The engine power output might be a slight letdown when you consider the amount of weight this machine will end up carrying, but in no world is 47 HP at 8500 RPM and 45 Nm at 4500 RPM less of a number. The engine is a twin cylinder of 499.6 cc capacity and has four valves per cylinder and DOHC. The 210 kerb weight is slightly on the higher side, but it still is lighter than, say, your regular Ninja 650. Ground clearance as expected from a ADV is high at 230 mm and a trestle frame holds everything together. The front suspension has a travel of 145 mm while the rear has a travel of 45 mm. The front brakes are twin 320 mm discs and the rear has a single 260 mm disc. ABS is a standard option as well. The front tyre comes standard with 120/70 section 17 inch spoke wheels with optional 110/80 – 19 inch upgrades and the rear comes with 160/60 section 17 inch spoke with optional 150/70 – 17 inch upgrades. The fuel tank capacity of 20 litres is a little disappointing, but still much better than anything else out there.

So, yes! We are pretty excited about this one. The Benelli TRK 502 has the potential to be everything a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts in this part of the world want. A motorcycle that can really be the do-it-all tourer and also a daily commute. What is your take on the Benelli TRK 502?
