Royal Enfield has introduced alloy wheels on its Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 models overseas. This one single update was a highly requested feature by owners since the bikes’ launch. Additionally, the bikes now come in two new color options, Black Ray and Barcelona Blue for the Interceptor 650, and Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey for the Continental GT 650, with black finishes on bodywork, engine components, and exhaust pipes.
The update also includes a new LED headlight, a USB charger, and switchgear borrowed from newer RE models like the Hunter 350. The new alloy wheels come with tubeless tires, making tasks like changing a tire or patching a puncture easier. Currently, the alloy wheels are only available on the blacked-out variants of the two models, but it is expected to be introduced in other color options as well. The new color variants cost around Rs 6,000 more than the range-topping Mark 2 colorway on both bikes in the overseas market. Given the importance of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 models for the Chennai-based brand in India, it is expected that the alloy wheel versions will be launched soon. Expect it in the next few weeks.
