Ather Energy has introduced the 450S, a new variant designed to provide performance-oriented electric mobility to a wider range of commuters in the country. The 450S model is equipped with a 3 kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of 115 km under Indian Driving Conditions (IDC) and a top speed of 90 km/h. Building on Ather’s reputation for delivering top-tier technology and performance in the scooter segment, the 450S aims to attract Indian riders who are currently purchasing 125-cc performance internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters but are interested in transitioning to the smarter and higher-performing Ather scooters. Priced at INR 129,999 (excluding state subsidy), the 450S is priced affordably for Indian commuters.

Following the recent revision of the FAME II subsidy, which came into effect today, Ather has adjusted the prices of its scooters accordingly. The FAME II subsidy, a crucial factor in driving electric vehicle adoption in India, has been revised to INR 10,000 per kWh, with a maximum cap of 15% of the ex-factory price.
Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, explained, “The FAME II revision has led to a subsidy reduction of approximately INR 32,000. Nevertheless, Ather is absorbing a significant portion of this price impact to accelerate EV adoption in the country. Starting today, our best-selling scooter, the 450X with Pro Pack, will be available at INR 165,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore), which is only slightly higher than the prices in March 2023. We have made every effort to keep the prices as low as possible for the benefit of our customers and have registered the lowest price increase in the industry following the FAME II subsidy reduction. The substantial price absorption, combined with the inclusion of a 700W home fast charger and access to Ather Grid™ up to 3 kW, adds significant value to customers who pay an incremental price following the subsidy revision.”
As of today, the Ather 450X is priced at INR 145,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore), while the 450X with Pro Pack is priced at INR 165,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
