Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced the release of the all-new 2023 Dio, which is compliant with OBD2 regulations and is available at a starting price of Rs. 70,211 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Innovative Technology: The globally acclaimed Honda Smart Key is now integrated into the new 2023 Dio. The Honda Smart Key System offers the following features:
Smart Find: The answer back system in the smart key assists in easily locating the vehicle. When the answer back button is pressed on the Honda Smart Key, all four winkers will blink twice, helping to locate the scooter.
Smart Unlock: The Smart Key System is a cutting-edge technology that allows the vehicle to be locked and unlocked without using a physical key. If no activity is detected for 20 seconds after activation, the scooter will automatically deactivate.
Smart Start: If the smart key is within a range of 2 meters from the vehicle, the rider can smoothly start the vehicle by rotating the knob on the Loc Mod to the ignition position and pushing the start button, without needing to remove the key.
Smart Safe: The 2023 Dio is equipped with a Mapped Smart ECU, which serves as a security device by electronically matching the ID between the ECU and the SMART Key, preventing vehicle theft. The smart key includes an immobilizer system that prevents an unregistered key from starting the engine. Without a secure connection with the Smart Key, the Immobilizer System will not be activated.
At the heart of the 2023 Dio is Honda’s trusted 110cc PGM-FI engine, which is BSVI OBD2 compliant and enhanced by Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology.
The Sophisticated, Precise & Sensitive Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) brings India up to global standards. This technology acts as a performance accelerator for the engine, optimizing energy output by maximizing efficient combustion and minimizing friction. It provides a silent start and a smooth, eco-friendly engine.
Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) incorporates the following:
Unique Honda ACG Starter: It enables jolt-free engine start-up by using the same AC generator used for generating current and charging the battery while riding. This eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor, resulting in a quieter operation without gear meshing noises.
The engine start process is made easier through two mechanical features. Firstly, efficient utilization of decompression with slightly opened exhaust valves at the beginning of the compression stroke. Secondly, the Swing Back feature rotates the engine in a slightly opposite direction, allowing the piston to take a “running start,” making it easier to start the engine with minimal power.
The Start Solenoid, acting as an automatic choke system, ensures a rich air-fuel mixture and provides the convenience of one-time start at any point in time.
Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI): This system injects the precise amount of fuel into the cylinder based on specific engine data and constant feedback from five intelligent sensors. It results in a smooth and consistent power output throughout.
Tumble Flow: Honda has developed the world’s first tumble flow technology through an integrated die-casting process. The Enhanced Smart Tumble Technology (eSTT) produces tumble flow by optimizing the shape of the inlet port and utilizing reverse flow phenomenon, without the need for additional components. This leads to improved combustion.
Friction Reduction: The offset cylinder, compact weight crankshaft, and optimized piston design reduce overall engine friction, resulting in improved fuel efficiency.
Fully Digital Meter with Advanced Information: The new digital meter displays three real-time informatics: Range (distance that can be traveled with the existing fuel in the tank), Average Fuel Efficiency (overall fuel efficiency display), and Real-time Fuel Efficiency for a rich riding experience. Additionally, the meter provides details such as Total Trip, Clock, and Service Due Indicator. The new digital meter is available in deluxe and smart variants.
The Side Stand Indicator with Engine Inhibitor prevents engine start while the side stand is engaged, ensuring a convenient and safe ride.

The Telescopic Suspension not only offers a clean and stylish appearance but also enhances maneuverability, resulting in a smoother ride over rough roads. Engine Start/Stop Switch: This two-way functioning switch starts the engine when pressed downward and acts as an engine kill switch when pressed upward.
