KTM is expected to launch its 790 Duke early in April for India as per latest reports, this could also be followed by the launch of the 790 Adventure by the festive season this year. The 790 Adventure may be arriving earlier than the eagerly awaited 390 Adventure. The KTM 790 twins will be brought in through CKD kits (mostly engine and chassis) but other parts and some mechanical components may be locally sourced. The bike gets a parallel twin 799 cc LC8c liquid cooled engine that makes 95 PS and 88 Nm and this is paired to a 6-speed transmission system. There is a two-way quick shifter which is optional.
The 790 Adventure will also come with 43 mm WP upside-down front forks and a rear WP monoshock. The motorcycle has features like off-road ABS, cornering ABS, rally mode and traction control globally while cruise control is an optional feature. In case it launches soon in India, the 790 Adventure will take on the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 950, Triumph Tiger 800 XR and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT. Prices for the new 790 Adventure may be close to INR 8.5 lakhs with the 790 Duke around the 8 lakh mark.
