In an exciting development, there are reports of BMW Motorrad finally planning the F 850 RS which is a slightly different road biased version of the F 850 GS. This bike will soon be unveiled globally and the BMW brochure for this year reportedly confirms the launch of the same. The R 1250 GS spawns the R 1250 RS tourer and the same blueprint may be followed in case of the middleweight category.
The F 850 RS may have 17 inch alloy wheels and a windscreen along with design inspiration drawn from the R 1250 RS. There could be full-LED lighting and a full colour instrument panel with Bluetooth, smartphone compatibility and a controller. There will be a more conventionally positioned exhaust with the liquid cooled 853 cc parallel two cylinder four valve engine.
