The India-made Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 models will launch in the country anytime during FY2019-2020. The test mules have been seen on the Pune-Mumbai Highway again reaffirming its launch. The Vitpilen 401 translates to White Arrow and it has already launched in South America and Europe. The test version for the Indian market gets alloy wheels similar to the ones available for the KTM 390 Duke.

The test model also had grab rails which have already been made compulsory for all bikes sold in the country. There are sleek and rounded LED headlights, clip on handle bars and a circular digital instrument console fuel mounted bag carrier. There are front WP 43 mm USD forks and a rear WP monoshock. There are 320 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes while dual-ABS is a standard feature.

The Svartpilen 401 model is also being tested on Indian roads and both bikes remain the same although differentiating elements remain the tyres, fuel tank rack, handlebars, exhaust, seat and skid plate. Svartpilen equates to Black Arrow and will sport a black colour. Both the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 models get their power from the KTM 390 Duke’s engine. This is a single cylinder 373.2 cc engine that makes 43.5 BHP and 37 Nm. This engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission system.

The Husqvarna brand is owned by the Bajaj-KTM combine. Both the models may be priced somewhere around INR 3 lakh on-road mark.
