Piaggio India is working on a new family scooter for the country which will be named the Aprilia Comfort. Piaggio tasted success with its Aprilia SR 150 and SR 125 models which are youthful and sporty scooters. Being a family scooter, it will be designed accordingly to offer enhanced comfort. It will have features like a large floorboard and seat and also considerable under-seat storage. It will most likely sport a single cylinder 125 cc air cooled engine which will be the same one used for the SR 125. The CVT unit and engine will be tuned for providing added refinement and torque. Some components like the switch-gear, grab-rails and instrument console will also be shared with the SR 125.
The Aprilia Comfort may take on the TVS NTorq 125 and Suzuki Access 125 and may be priced quite competitively indeed. The scooter will launch in August 2019 in order to drive higher sales volumes throughout the festive season in India.
