Honda Racing Corporation today announced the signing of three-times MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo. The Spanish rider will join the Repsol Honda Team for the next two years. From 2019, Lorenzo will ride a factory RC213V together with four-times MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez: two great champions with great talent and high hopes that will make a stronger team and contribute to the development of Honda motorcycles.
This is an absolute shock, while we wait for the official rider quotes what this means is that Lorenzo now has the chance of being the first rider in history to win on 3 different manufacturers. The fate of the Dani Pedrosa is still not clear, although at this point his options are limited as well. A satellite Yamaha or possibly even Petrucci’s seat at Pramac.
