We all know that the Yamaha YZF-R3 had been discontinued in India ever since the BS4 norms kicked in. With the introduction of the global 2018 version of the YZF-R3 that complies with all the required emission norms, we can safely assume that this new version will be reaching Indian shores in the next few months (mostly Auto Expo 2018). Sadly though it will still be CBU.
We will most likely not be getting the ABS version as it is mandatory only from 2019. So expect the ex-showroom India price to remain almost the same around 3.3L. Yamaha will surely price it to undercut the currently overpriced Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the soon to be overpriced Ninja 400.
Specifications of 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 remain the same and the only visual change are the new colour options. So, that means the power figures remain at 30.9 kW (42.0PS) @ 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm @ 9,000 rpm.
