New 2014 Bajaj Discover 150 with fairing spotted

When it came, it came good. Bajaj Discover was able to capture the Indian motorcycle market among the commuter segment in a pretty decent manner. The light, economic and subtle looking motorcycle with enough power and handling capabilities stood at top of the line for anyone who needed a wallet-friendly bike which was worth every penny they spent. The Discover managed to stay alive in the market until the motorcycle market in India boomed with the rise of good bikes from manufacturers such as Yamaha, Honda, Hero Motocorp etc. Soon, the Discover started disappearing. And then Bajaj started to react, react with a slew of Discovers in different versions and capacities.

Bajaj have decided to give a facelift to the Discover in 2014. The bike will now come with a semi fairing which looks like something that has inherited design elements from the Karizma R and Pulsar 220. The fairing, however, instead of making an exciting fuss, has created skepticism due to its some what ‘namesake’ looking design . Clearly, it looks amateurish and out of place. An economic bike with just enough power to smoothly run is now installed with this extra fat. Also, the 2014 Discover F150 also comes with a rear disc brake along with the already existing front disc. The suspension duties are reserved to the telescopic forks in the front and monoshocks in the back. All this in a bike with a 150 cc power plant producing just over 14 PS of power. Other highlights are the glossy black exhaust muffler, digital instrument cluster with analogue tacho, and alloy wheels. Skepticism as to how the bike would be accepted by the market rises when all these specs are read together in a single page. However, it is too soon to pass judgments.

Bajaj Auto Limited is one among the leading bike manufacturers in India, and they have shown positive growth and has given the Indian bikers a decent number of good motorcycles. Hence, ruling out the 2014 Discover F150 to be a bad outcome just yet, by analyzing the spy photos and rendered images may not be ideal. We have to wait to get a hold of the real story soon, and then, all the doubts will be answered. Photo credits to OD Mag.
