The BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet Superbike Team is currently travelling to the United States of America to take on to round six of 2012 World Superbike season, that will take place at Tooele’s Miller Motorsports Park near the Utah State capital Salt Lake City. After the Donington Park round, on a track well loved by both riders, Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini are willing to give their all to get the good results that would match expectations and be in line with the encouraging performances displayed during practice and qualifying sessions at previous events.

The North-American track first entered the World Superbike calendar in 2008 and for the third consecutive year will see its race day on “Memorial Day” set as the last Monday of May. Of the numerous layouts of the circuit, the World Superbike will race on the 4097m “Outer Course” with 9 left-handers and 6 right handers. The track is located at an altitude of 1341m and this peculiarity leads to a significant decrease in engine horsepower.

Serafino FotiBMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet Superbike Team Sporting Director

“This track is a very technical one and has unique characteristics, like the altitude it’s at and the very long finishing straight, as well as a beautiful range of mountains in the background. It’s a track which both riders like so we’re confident we can have two good races. Finding a good set-up straight away will be crucial and also the weather will play a big part througout the weekend.”

Michel Fabrizio #84

“I’m travelling to Miller knowing that I have a package that would allow me to do well there. I love the track. It’s a unique one because the altitude affects the engine performance quite a bit. Let’s hope we’ll have a little bit more luck on our side compared to the rounds we already raced so we can get the best out of me and the bike.”

Ayrton Badovini #86

“We’ll start the American round with new bike geometries that I hope will help us making a step forward. The track is one of my favourites. I want to race my best and get good results so after that we’ll get to Misano as top players.”
