With cool track temperatures, today’s WSBK race 1 at the Aragon track became all about the tyres and then about those who got it right. Top among them, Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri where in a race of their own with the other riders mere spectators. Biaggi broke away from the pack almost immediately overtaking his team mate Eugene Laverty in the fourth lap. Melandri at this stage was still behind Sykes and Laverty, but soon enough caught up to Biaggi and made his move in the 16th lap and got overtaken on the 17th. The riders kept swapping positions quite a bit here on and kept all of us at the edge of our seats. Biaggi made the final overtake on the penultimate lap and stuck to a defensive line and both the riders, Biaggi first and a close second Melandri finished almost ten seconds ahead of the rest.

Race 2 was the one not to miss. Laverty took the lead in the beginning but the super fast duo Melandri and Biaggi got better of him in lap 15. Melandri almost lost the race in lap 16 when he tried to out brake Biaggi and dropped two spots to let through Laverty and Davies. The race was now a battle between the four going down to the wire. Melandri and Laverty fighting for top spot while Davies and Biaggi for third. Melandri pulled ahead on the final lap at turn 9 and finished first ahead of Laverty just 0.042 seconds behind. Davies was able to fend off Biaggi and finished third.
