A heavily weather adjusted programme saw the action move from Sunday to Saturday with teams taking to field in the opening race of the TTXGP North American Championship 2011. First ever AMA and FIM North American Union electric bike event gets underway in the United States.
Consistently scoring a higher average lap speed and posting faster times for longer, Brammo with Steve Atlas on the Empulse RR (fastest lap 1:55.150) marked their return to top flight electric motorsport with an outstanding demonstration of integrating technology, experience and talent. 6 of the 8 laps were faster than Zero Agni (1:56.948) in 2010. Steve Atlas commented “Running this thing is like playing the coolest video game ever!”

Kenyon Kluge took the first TTX75 class win. The TTX75 class limits the energy to 7.5 kwh and provides a direct track to road path for manufacturers developing commuter solutions.
The action for North America now moves to New Hampshire for the June 17th. The teams held back this weekend with technical failures as well as new teams from Canada are all looking to make their mark. The TTXGP European Championship gets underway at Silverstone next month.
