Honda India 2016 Motorsports plan

Honda India has unveiled their plan for the 2016 motorsport season. Honda intends to promote motorsports at the grassroot level and aims to offer opportunities for talented riders to develop a career in the sport.

Honda India today announced a Help Line number – 0124-6712863, to aid any rider who wishes to take-up motorsport professionally. These riders can reach out to Honda India through this Help Line. The selected candidates will then be given training on the subtleties of two-wheeler racing at the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy. Honda will also provide technical support and race-prepped motorcycles to all the riders.

The 2016 Motorsport season will see the ninth edition of the Honda One Make Race commence from June 24 onwards. This season will also see the first-ever full-fledged season of the Honda All Women Race. Honda India had conducted the first-ever All Women Race during Round 5 of the 2015 season. 10 women riders will compete in the first round of the Honda women’s racing championship.

For this year, Honda India has unveiled new race-prepped versions of the CBR250R and CBR150R. Developed with technical input from Honda’s Indian R&D team, both the motorcycles was seen in action at the Kari Motor Speedway last weekend. The new racing version of the CBR250R is endowed with an upgraded Honda racing kit which includes a wiring harness with a remapping option, an advanced racing body cowl kit & equipped with an endurance exhaust.

The new CBR150R, on the other hand, gets a reprogrammed ECU & Endurance exhaust. The 2016 motorsport season promises further reason to cheer as the Round 5 of the Asia Dream Cup is scheduled to be held at the Buddh International Circuit from September 29-October 02, 2016. Asia Dream Cup is the brain-child of Honda Motor Company, Japan which provides a platform to develop riding skills comparable to the best of Asian riders.

Honda India also announced the dates and venues for the 5 sessions of Honda Ten10 Racing Training Academy which imparts track training. The training session typically has a batch of 20 riders. Post the session; the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy will issue a Level 1 certificate to participants which enables them to participate in two-wheeler road racing championship organized by the Madras Motorsports Club.
